ฝูงชนกำเนิดคล้าย	คลึงกัน
ใหญ่ย่อมเพศผิวพรรณ	แผกบ้าง
ความรู้อาจเรียนทัน	กันหมด
เว้นแต่ชั่วดีกระด้าง	ห่อนแก้ ฤๅไหว
Born men are we all	and one,
Brown, black by the sun	cultured.
Knowledge can be won	alike.
Only the heart differs	from man to man.

 

 

โลกนิติ ประเภท Knowledge
รู้น้อยว่ามากรู้	เริงใจ
กลกบเกิดอยู่ใน	สระจ้อย
ไป่เห็นชเลไกล	กลางสมุทร
ชมว่าน้ำบ่อน้อย	มากล้ำ ลึกเหลือ
So little yet so much	one knows,
Like a frog which grows	in a puddle,
knowing not oceans so	ever vast,
becomes befuddled	by its small world.

 

 

โลกนิติ ประเภท On Good and Evil
ภูเขาเอนก ล้ำ	มากมี
บ่มิหนักแผ่นธรณี	หน่อยไซร้
หนักนักแต่กระลี	ลวงโลก
อันจักทรงทานได้	แต่พื้น นรกานต์
Mountains bear on earth	and seas.
Even so, they're free	of weight.
Heavy Evil, be	earth's load.
Hell alone rebates	the load of sins.

 

 

ลิลิตพระลอ ประเภท On Good and Evil
ใด ใด ในโลกล้วน	อนิจจัง
คงแต่บาปบุญยัง	เที่ยงแท้
คือเงาติดตัวตรัง	ตรึงแน่น อยู่นา
ตามแต่บาปบุญแล้	ก่อเกื้อ รักษา
All sentient beings pass	away.
What they've done do stay	hereafter.
Like shadows, so do they	follow
Good, Evil deeds forever	till time does end.

 

 

โลกนิติ ประเภท On Wise Men
ดารามีมากน้อย	ถึงพัน
บ่เปรียบกับดวงจันทร์	หนี่งได้
คนพาลมากอนันต์	ในโลก
จะเทียบเท่าปราชญ์ไซร์	ยากแท้ ฤๅถึง
Millions though the stars	combine,
Never can they outshine	the moon.
Millions can one find	small men on earth.
Can one just so soon	discover a sage?

ภูเขาเหลือแหล่ล้วน	ศิลา
หามณีจินดา	ยากได้
ฝูงชนเกิดนานา	ในโลก
หานักปราชญ์นั้นไซร้	เลือกแล้ว ฤๅมี
Mountains give only	bare stones.
Rarely one finds diamonds	of worth.
Midst millions scarcely none	is sage.
truly, there's a dearth	of the wise among men.

พริกเผ็ดใครให้เผ็ด	ฉันใด
หนามย่อมแหลมเองใคร	เซี่ยมให้
จันทน์กฤษณาไฉน	ใครอบ หอมฤๅ
วงศ์แห่งนักปราชญ์ได้	เพราะด้วย ฉลาดเอง
Hot chilies generate heat	and health.
Thorns sharpen themselves,	indeed.
Flowers do flowers help	in fragrance.
wise men do not need	wisdom from fools.
